A rare work of modern architecture with unforgettable views, this one-of-a-kind home in the desirable San Marco area was designed by respected Washington, D.C. architect Winthrop W. Faulkner to embrace its remarkable setting overlooking Greenridge Park Creek as it opens toward the St. Johns River. The inverted floor plan places the main living spaces on the upper level, where walls of windows and multiple balconies create the feeling of living among the treetops. Enjoy sweeping water and river views from the living room, kitchen, dining areas, and expanded breakfast room--along with spectacular sunsets and abundant native wildlife. Solidly constructed with reinforced concrete block and precast concrete slab floors, the home offers a striking combination of architectural character, privacy, and strength, all tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac. The upper level includes two dining areas and three bedrooms, each with access to its own balcony. The light-filled breakfast room provides a front-row seat to the peaceful waterway, while the living room and balcony offer a spectacular backdrop for relaxing or entertaining. Launch a kayak and explore the creek and surrounding waterways, where bald eagles, kingfishers, herons, egrets, and even the occasional manatee may make an appearance. Downstairs, a spacious entertainment level is ready to become one of the home's most memorable features. The expansive flex area offers endless possibilities as a game room, home gym, creative studio, playroom, or gathering space. A dedicated movie theater with projector, built-in surround sound, wet bar, and separate AV control room creates the perfect setting for movie nights and entertaining. This level also includes a full bathroom and an additional room ideal for an office, guest space, or hobby room. Three garages with insulated commercial roll-up doors provide exceptional parking and storage. Additional features include an owned 16kW roof-mounted solar system, whole-house generator, water softener, and electric car charger. Conveniently located near sought-after public and private schools, including Hendricks Avenue Elementary, Landon, and Bolles, the home is also just minutes from the dining, shopping, and entertainment of San Marco Square. Distinctive, dramatic, and wonderfully unexpected, 715 Rio Lindo Drive offers an architectural and waterfront lifestyle unlike anything else in Jacksonville.
